6 months

Carter had his 6 month well baby check today. Dr. Barnes couldn't have been more pleased with him and Carter gets to switch to milk based formula, off the stinky soy, yay! He weighs 17 lbs and 7oz, he is 26.25" and his head is 17.25" and all three measurements are right on the 5oth percentile line. He's just getting so big and most of you will be happy to know that he ripped the paper on the exam table right away! LOL I was laughing so hard because after he tore a piece right out of the middle I put a blanket down on top of it and he was moving the blanket to get back to the paper, I don't think babies are supposed to do that yet! No more out of sight out of mind for Mr. Carter. Everyone have a happy, safe, and fun weekend! I'm in my friend Mindy's wedding so I'll be pretty busy.

4th of July

We had a busy busy weekend. Friday was the 4th and we went to Drew's parents house to celebrate. Rita made her awesome lasagna and Robert and Adam shot of some fireworks. My friend Kimmy came out to watch with us and she made a really cool red and blue checkerboard cake. I'm going to to need to borrow her cake pans sometime! It was a very nice evening, a little on the chilly side even. Carter fell asleep during the show but he enjoyed the first half of it.
Saturday night the fireworks were at Perry Lake with my parents. Uncle Denny and Aunt Paulette were here visiting from Indiana. Mom made some really good margaritas and after two I felt them, lol. Carter enjoyed the evening hanging out with family, he slept on Grandma Rita (who came out to watch the show) while Drew, RJ, and I went swimming in the lake. The fireworks show was AWESOME it started about 10:10pm and ended about 10:30pm. Carter fell asleep before it started then slept on Mawtaw during the show.
Sunday was Drew and my 6th wedding anniversary, we had a good day with softball and going out to dinner and then we just enjoyed the evening in our own back yard. :)

The month of June

Whew, what a month! Carter had his first birthday party(his friend Clay's) and his first wedding this month. I cannot believe how much he has developed. He can almost sit up on his own, he's just a little wobbly. He can't crawl yet though he just kicks his feet and moves his arms all over the place. He has figured out that he can roll to get whatever his heart desires. I layed him down on the floor to play while I went to the bathroom the other morning, when I came back he had rolled to the coffee table and was playing with the microphones for our PlayStation game, I think he really knew what to do because he was just yelling while playing with them. Carter is facinated by electionics, he wants the phone, the cell phone, the remote, he lunges for the keyboard if I hold him while I'm typing. It won't take him long and he'll be calling his grandmas! I don't think they will mind though.

Carter also had his first swim this month, lots of firsts!

A few pics from the first 4 months

Carter was born January 9, 2008 at 7:31 pm via c-section. It was a long day and we were so happy he was finally here. We eventually adjusted to life with a newborn, it took some practice but we got there. Once we adjusted to life with a newborn we got to experience life with an infant. And let me just say, I love every minute of it! From the first bite of rice cereal to him picking up his food and playing in it last night for dad, its been great. His first bath was when he was only about 2 weeks old, his umbilical cord had already fallen off and I decided, lets try out the nice tub. Carter HATED it, he screamed and cried the whole time and has only just at about 5 months of age started to really enjoy his bath. Sleep is something that was cherished and unfamiliar in our household until Carter reached about 4 months of age, that is when we started to feed him some rice cereal with his last bottle as well as in the morning. I know that its just a wive's tale but it worked for us! Sometimes Carter doesn't wake until about 9am and since I work evenings this is awesome for me. I think Drew and my relationship has grown stronger since we have become parents and when we are tired and cranky we just realize the other person is probably feeling a lot of the same.
To answer the question, yes we are planning to have another child, we just want to allow Carter some time to be a baby before he has to be a big brother.
