This space started with stories about my boys, Carter and Jaxon, who taught me that 1) Life is hectic, scary, and beautiful. 2) Learning is painful and messy. 3) Love is unconditional. 💕 Now, I share life as a dental hygiene educator—teaching, mentoring, and growing alongside students. Still living it out loud, just in a different chapter. 😊

What to say...
I'm so excited for Halloween! The boys are going to be dinosaurs, oh my, sooo cute! I will post pics once I take some. We have been enjoying our wonderful fall weather here in Kansas. We have been seriously blessed with the temperatures ranging from 65-70 degrees which is so great since our summer was terrible and we had to stay indoors. Jax is being a little daredevil, he likes to climb up to the highest slide when we go to the park and giggles the whole way down. He's also saying more words, this week he mastered thank you, it sounds like "tank ewe" but I'm just happy he's speaking. Carter is loving preschool! He is always excited to go and if I need to get him motivated to move, I just say, hurry up, we are going to school today. He loves seeing his new friends and doesn't always participate in the crafts but well, he's a guy. hehe Next week Drew is on vacation so he'll get to take Carter and stay for part of circle time and the preschool "fall party" is next week. They will be taking a walking field trip to a local apartment building for the elderly do have a parade and sing silly songs. Carter doesn't know he gets to dress up for school yet, he's going to be crazy happy!

I had the boys' fall pictures taken a few weeks ago, they turned out really cute. I was having some serious mommy guilt because Jaxon still hasn't been in to get "professional" pictures taken, so these were his first. He didn't like them at all, and it took a while to get any smiley pics and I don't think there is even one without me in it. Last week Carter had school pics and we could sign up sibilings to have their pictures taken too, so I did. Woo-hoo twice in a month for Jax, lol! He did the same thing, clingy to me but we did finally get a few good shots the photographer was so patient with us! One of these days we'll find time to get family pics done but I don't know when that will be, hehe.

Must. Stay. Awake. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
We are heading to Tulsa for a weekend of fun with our friends Jason and Karen and Heather and Nick. The boys don't know that we are going, but Drew and I are so excited! I switched shifts at work so I could have the weekend off and keeping awake is soooo hard right now, lol. Hopefully, once I walk out the door I'll be recharged and ready to go.
Yesterday was my birthday, it was a great day. The boys (urged by Drew) gave me a nice dog pile and Carter yelled, Happy Birthday, MOMMMMEEEE! while getting me, and Jax just gave his goofy giggles and climbed up to kiss me. Then we went out to my parents house for a nice, relaxed evening, its always the best when I don't have to cook! I feel very blessed and super spoiled by my family and friends and I don't know what I'd ever do without any of you!!
Now I'm off for a wonderful weekend and roadtrip, here's a lullaby to help me snooze on the way...
"Oh my love... in my arms tight
Every day you give me life
As I drift off to your world
Rest in peaceful sleep"

1/2 weekend
Granny and Papa came and got Jax for the night and when they return him tomorrow they are gonna take Carter. Sometimes it's awesome to have one kid again - it allows great one on one time for the boys and fun granny and papa time too! Everyone have a wonderful weekend; Drew, Carter, and I are going out for dinner then hitting the grocery store! :)
Have a great day!

Slacker!
I really need a laptop, but since my wonderful hubby is building me a new computer, the laptop can wait. I am such a slacker about blogging, I'm even loosing the few followers that I have, lol! I know with a laptop I wouldn't have the excuse of having to go into the computer room to blog, and even at that I know I could blog from my phone I just need to get with it! I vow to get better and I think I'll add it to my "to do" list at least twice a week and then maybe I'll actually do it twice a month. :) Not much going on here lately, summer is in full swing, swimming, parks, BBQ, and nice cool beer. Jax is a total instigator and loves throwing everything from cups to full blown tantrums and Carter is way too smart for his own good.
Here are a few recent pics of my little men, some sweet, some not so much.
Driving trucks at Oak Park Mall
Telling me, "I just DID!" on the way home from the pool, I don't remember what I asked him.
Watching TV, eatin' some froot loops
Yelling back at me after I called him naughty for throwing toys
Apple stealer!! (I was actually just holding Carter's)

iLove
I really love my iPhone but I'm not loving the crashes my apps are having. My bestie and I took the boys on an adventure to the Apple store in KC on Friday and we were successful, in finding the store. I had a tech look at my phone, he wiped it, told me to go home, log into my iTunes, authorize the device and resync it. I did exactly as told and guess what??? It still crashes. Boo. I now have the joy of deciding whether another trip is in order or not. I will probably call them Monday and complain about it and see if there is anything they can do without me coming in, otherwise it will be back to KC we go! LOL
Jaxon is starting to understand the concept of "no" and he doesn't like it. Not at all. Today was a rough day for us, cruddy weather, no sleep, Daddy away helping a friend. He was so done with Mommy that he clung to Daddy when he got home, Drew was wondering when he became a "Daddy's boy?" LOL I just laughed and thought, he has had enough of the word "no" today. Carter did try to cheer me up, he said, "I know what will cheer you up Mommy" ... "COFFEE!"
My son knows me so well :) Even though the culmination of my day was Carter pooping in the tub, I still enjoyed my evening with my guys and I was sad that I had to go to work. Oh well, its worth it to spend M-F playing with them.♥♥
Another positive, 8 lbs down, a whole bunch more to go!
