Have a great day!

This space started with stories about my boys, Carter and Jaxon, who taught me that 1) Life is hectic, scary, and beautiful. 2) Learning is painful and messy. 3) Love is unconditional. 💕 Now, I share life as a dental hygiene educator—teaching, mentoring, and growing alongside students. Still living it out loud, just in a different chapter. 😊

1/2 weekend
Granny and Papa came and got Jax for the night and when they return him tomorrow they are gonna take Carter. Sometimes it's awesome to have one kid again - it allows great one on one time for the boys and fun granny and papa time too! Everyone have a wonderful weekend; Drew, Carter, and I are going out for dinner then hitting the grocery store! :)

Slacker!
I really need a laptop, but since my wonderful hubby is building me a new computer, the laptop can wait. I am such a slacker about blogging, I'm even loosing the few followers that I have, lol! I know with a laptop I wouldn't have the excuse of having to go into the computer room to blog, and even at that I know I could blog from my phone I just need to get with it! I vow to get better and I think I'll add it to my "to do" list at least twice a week and then maybe I'll actually do it twice a month. :) Not much going on here lately, summer is in full swing, swimming, parks, BBQ, and nice cool beer. Jax is a total instigator and loves throwing everything from cups to full blown tantrums and Carter is way too smart for his own good.
Here are a few recent pics of my little men, some sweet, some not so much.
Driving trucks at Oak Park Mall
Telling me, "I just DID!" on the way home from the pool, I don't remember what I asked him.
Watching TV, eatin' some froot loops
Yelling back at me after I called him naughty for throwing toys
Apple stealer!! (I was actually just holding Carter's)

iLove
I really love my iPhone but I'm not loving the crashes my apps are having. My bestie and I took the boys on an adventure to the Apple store in KC on Friday and we were successful, in finding the store. I had a tech look at my phone, he wiped it, told me to go home, log into my iTunes, authorize the device and resync it. I did exactly as told and guess what??? It still crashes. Boo. I now have the joy of deciding whether another trip is in order or not. I will probably call them Monday and complain about it and see if there is anything they can do without me coming in, otherwise it will be back to KC we go! LOL
Jaxon is starting to understand the concept of "no" and he doesn't like it. Not at all. Today was a rough day for us, cruddy weather, no sleep, Daddy away helping a friend. He was so done with Mommy that he clung to Daddy when he got home, Drew was wondering when he became a "Daddy's boy?" LOL I just laughed and thought, he has had enough of the word "no" today. Carter did try to cheer me up, he said, "I know what will cheer you up Mommy" ... "COFFEE!"
My son knows me so well :) Even though the culmination of my day was Carter pooping in the tub, I still enjoyed my evening with my guys and I was sad that I had to go to work. Oh well, its worth it to spend M-F playing with them.♥♥
Another positive, 8 lbs down, a whole bunch more to go!

Back in the saddle again

I don't know if it was Jaxon turning one, but I have felt more like myself than I have in years. Since becoming a mom, I have felt like I've lost me and I'm so happy to see me return, sorry the sarcasm is back too! I thought I adjusted well to mommyhood, then, boom, along came number 2. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore my little men, and I'm the one who wanted them close in age so they could be friends, but in retrospect, I should have waited longer. Given me time to find me again and figure out how to be a mommy and still be a woman, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend, etc. I'm comming into my stride and I'm not afraid to go out without my children, I'm not afraid to call my friends and say, hey I have a lasagna in the oven, come on over, bring the kids. Yes, I'm back friends, oh yes, I am back!

Busy few weeks!
We moved and Jax and I went on a short trip to Denver, CO for some girl time with my bestie! We didn't mind having Jax crash the party, really we couldn't have asked for a better baby, I was amazed he did so well on the car ride. I know Carter would have been too much for us so thank you to Fitz for watching him while Drew was at work! Jaxon has started saying "Dada" and I think I've heard him say "hi" twice now when I get him out of his crib. He's just such a moose though! At his 6 month check up he weighed 22lbs, 1oz and was 28inches long! Drew and I keep joking that Carter is going to be getting Jaxon's hand my downs before too long. Carter's newest funny saying is, "I'm too little." Anytime we ask him to do something unpleasant to him he covers his ears and ignores us or says, "I'm too little." I know this is from me explaining him that Jax can't play with Hot Wheels because he's too little and could choke on them. Friday morning, Carter was being "nice" when he decided to share his poptart with Jaxon! Note to self, no potty breaks, always have one with me, always! Luckily Jax mushed it up everywhere before he ate it so he didn't have any trouble munching away.
Halloween will be here before we know it and Carter wants to be a pirate. I haven't seen any pirate costumes that I like but I did find a great white shark costume for Jax! I'm looking forward to Halloween and really all the holidays. I love Halloween because for me it kicks off the holiday season and right after the holidays we have the boys' birthdays and then the rest of the year is kinda boring!
Here are some funny pics to get you through the week!

Wow, August is almost over!
I have no idea where time is going but I'm loving every minute! Nothing much going on here, just going to the park before it gets too hot or after it cools off, Carter is getting super brave. He likes to jump off things "my myself" and says, "To infinity, and beyond!" when he does it. He's becoming a super swimmer and enjoys jumping into Mataw and Pataw's pool "my myself" and he loves it, he says, "kick, kick, kick, paddle, paddle, paddle, swim, swim, swim" while he's swimming. I really wish I took the time to document all this cuteness on film but I'm too busy playing along, kinda make me sad when I look back at this year. I have too few pictures and so many memories that I would LOVE to have on film. Oh well, you can't go back, just forward, so that is my new goal for the rest of the year at least. Take more pictures! I love them and I love seeing everyone elses so snap away, snap away, snap away all!
